Colombia! In this tour you will visit four of the country’s main regions. First off, the Andean region with traditional destinations like Bogota with its enriching past and Medellin with its rebirth after its long gone turbulent history. Secondly, you will visit the Amazon region in San Jose del Guaviare, a region that broadly resembles prehistoric times and has endless options for nature lovers. And finally the Orinoco region with the Güejar River that seems from another world.

Arrive to Bogotá at any time. Take a transfer from the airport to El Viajero Hostel. If you arrive early, take a walk around some of the interesting neighborhoods including La Candelaria, La Macarena, Parque de la 93, La Zona T, La Zona G where you can have lunch, a coffee or a beer. The adventure begins at night so feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you’re back in time to meet the group.

Visit the iconic fruit and vegetable retail market of Paloquemao, one of the most important in the country. We will find all kinds of fruits and vegetables, from the most famous to the most original. Then we will have typical local food for lunch and after that, discover the emblematic Monserrate Hill and ride the funicular or cable car to the top of the mountain. Spend some time taking in the stunning views of Bogotá and the surrounding Andes Mountains. Finish the afternoon in the center of Bogotá with a walking tour of the capital going to the most authentic places of the city such as, Plaza de Bolivar and La Candelaria, a place full of charm with its brightly coloured houses, its carved wooden balconies and its flowery patios.

Start the ride very early in the morning to Lejanías located in the Meta department, a destination with several hidden gems. This region used to be an epicenter of the Colombian conflict in the past but now they want to show you the best side of a really fertile region full of biodiversity, special ecosystems and amazing local people with its llanero culture that you will love. As soon as you arrive you have the opportunity to plant a tree or maybe more then you have time to rest and be prepared for a local gastronomy competition where you would have to take out the agriculture and the chef you have inside.

Departure to another town called Mesetas then take a traditional breakfast and get to the pier where you’ll do an amazing rafting along the river for 17km while you pass through waterfalls, beaches, rapids and end up in the famous “Titanic Rock” after that you’ll have lunch and get back to the ecolodge and then enjoy a bonfire at night.

This day you’ll first eat breakfast and then visit the 5 Wonderes of Güejar starting with Caño Lajón and Caño Jordán Waterfalls then visit naturally formed swimming pools. Early in the morning after breakfast, you will leave for the natural wells and be in direct contact with crystal clear waters where you can refresh yourself after an excellent hike through the Guayana Shield, a rocky outcrop full of passages that have been forged through the passage of time, full of shapes and streams of water. Then have lunch in the house of a farmer and his family that are happy to receive tourist in their lands to show them how they used to live in between armed conflicts, growing coca plants and producing cocaine to sell to the guerrillas, and how they have changed all that for new, legal and promising tourism. In that farm you have the opportunity to plant a tree.

Culture and archaeology lovers will also find heaven in Guaviare due to the many indigenous tribes that still inhabit this region and those who have already disappeared but left their marks as paintings in huge rock formations. Waking up and biking. In the company of locals you will ride a bicycle to Cerro Azul and then walk a path of more than 10 thousand years old cave paintings, crossing the cavern of the “Payes” (indigenous authority) and ending with a viewpoint where it is possible to appreciate the transition between the plain and the jungle. After lunch, continue the route biking towards San José del Guaviare, on the road that goes to the Nowen Bridge. You will travel 30 kilometers on an uncovered road where you will be able to see the imposing Guaviare river and the connection with the department of Meta, arrive to San José del Guaviare and take some rest then have an Amazonian dinner.

After breakfast you will embark on the majestic Guaviare River on a tour of about 3 hours by speedboat. Once there you will meet your hosts in the area, farmers who work together to make your visit an experience full of knowledge and stories about this area while protecting this natural scenery. You will make a brief stop to hydrate and get organized, then you will walk towards the Damas del Nare Lagoon while learning about the fruits that grow in the area, its flora and fauna. If you are lucky you will be able to see some species of birds and monkeys in the trees. At the end of the trail we will be at the lagoon, an imposing body of water in the middle of the jungle and home to pink dolphins, who you can see in their natural environment and if you wish you can take a swim in the lagoon, you will return to the community to take your lunch, rest a while and then return to San Jose.

San José de Guaviare is a paradise lost in the Colombian jungle that offers visitors natural wonders. Here nature has sculpted structures and formations that leave us perplexed as the Orion Gate, a natural stone sculpture. Departure after breakfast to discover the emblematic rock formations dating from the Cretaceous period, visit the “The Fridge” Cave, a cavern that the locals call "The Fridge" because when you enter it the temperature drops drastically, Orion Gate, walk through extraordinary rock vegetation, marvel at the crystal clear waters of the magnificent Caño Sabana, from which the splendid colors of its aquatic pink plants emerge. Lunch during the excursion. Return to the hotel for some rest.
